Getting Started — FAQ DodgeArrows Annapolis

What is DodgeArrows?

DodgeArrows is Maryland’s premier arrow tag, laser tag, and party venue located in Millersville, near Annapolis. Think dodgeball meets archery — players use lightweight bows with foam-tipped arrows in an action-packed arena. It’s safe, fun, and perfect for all ages 8 and up. We’re rated 4.9 stars with 510+ five-star reviews on Google.

Do I need bow and arrow experience?

No experience required! Nearly all players have never used a bow before. Our custom-designed, lightweight bows are simple and safe for ages 6+. Each session includes a quick orientation where our staff teaches loading, aiming, and shooting — you’ll be ready to play within about 5 minutes.

Does it hurt?

Not at all! Unlike paintball, DodgeArrows doesn’t hurt. All arrows have soft foam tips, and protective goggles are required (provided free). You’ll feel the arrow impact but it’s completely safe — comparable to a light dodgeball tag. No welts, no bruises, just pure fun and competition.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfortable athletic clothing you can move in. Sneakers are best for mobility, though Crocs or socks work too. Pants are recommended if you plan on sliding (turf can be tough on knees), but shorts are fine. We provide all equipment — bows, foam-tipped arrows, goggles, and arm guards. No outside equipment allowed.

What equipment is supplied?

We provide everything you need at no extra cost:

  • Bows & Nerf guns (age-specific: Nerf guns for ages 5+, C-Bows for ages 8+, advanced bows for experienced players)
  • Foam-tipped arrows
  • Protective goggles and face masks (sanitized daily)
  • Arm guards (optional)
  • Inflatable obstacles and barriers

Staff select equipment based on your group’s makeup to ensure the best experience.

Does DodgeArrows offer laser tag?

Yes! We offer two laser tag options:

  • Squad Hero Laser Tag — Ages 12 and under
  • Battle Rifle Pro Laser Tag — Ages 13+

Laser tag is non-contact with light sensors and sound effects, completely supervised by trained staff. Perfect for birthday parties, adults, and corporate team-building events.

What does the indoor arena look like?

Our 5,000+ sq ft indoor arena features inflatable bunkers, obstacles, and professional lighting for Arrow Tag, laser tag, and NERF battles. Here’s a video tour of our facility:

Where are you located?

We’re at 8855 Veterans Hwy, Millersville, MD 21108 — conveniently located near Annapolis, Severna Park, Gambrills, Crofton, and Odenton. Free parking on site.

Do I need to pay a deposit or pay in full?

Full payment is required at the time of booking — no deposits accepted. Private groups and parties require a minimum of 12 players. Payment secures your spot; no refunds if fewer players attend since staff is scheduled accordingly.

How do I book a birthday party, corporate event, or bachelor party?

Visit DodgeArrows.com to view available times and book online. We offer arrow tag parties, Nerf gun wars, laser tag, youth group outings, bachelor parties, and corporate team-building. For groups exceeding 24 players, contact us in advance to arrange times outside standard hours. Call/text 443-214-3545 for questions.

What happens if I book individual tickets and not enough players sign up?

A minimum of 6 players per session is required for proper gameplay and balanced teams. If fewer than 6 sign up, the session may be rescheduled or cancelled and you’ll be contacted to reschedule. Individual tickets are available Monday through Thursday only for smaller groups under 12 players.

How do I reschedule?

You can only reschedule your booking with at least 8 days’ notice. If your reservation is more than 8 days away, open your confirmation email and click the link at the bottom of that email. From there, you can make changes to your reservation.

Reschedules made with less than 7 days’ notice are treated as cancellations. See our Refund Policy for full details.

Yes — all waivers must be completed before arrival (no paper waivers on-site). The host (booking person) receives a unique group waiver link to share with all guests and track completion. Cell service inside the building is limited, so please complete waivers before arriving to avoid check-in delays and maximize your play time.

We’ve hosted Navy units and large church groups.

Can I change my headcount after booking?

Yes! Book for at least 12 players initially. Adding 2–3 players requires 3 days notice. For 5+ additional players, provide 7 days notice for proper staffing. Notify us 7+ days before your event to adjust headcount for a refund on extras — changes within 7 days are non-refundable.

  • Kids’ games: Up to 24 players at once (larger groups with advance notice)
  • Adults: Typically 8 vs. 8 (16 total); larger games can be arranged

Do you offer off-site or mobile events?
